Jules et Manon
Jules and Manon
Storyline :
Jules and Manon are two young people, artists and bohemians. They live in Paris, a city destroyed by the cataclysm that engulfed most of the city in lava, long before they were born.
In this post-apocalyptic world, the two young people create love and beauty to help people survive and hope. Manon sings, Jules accompanies her with an Oud, a short-necked lute that he has made. They are often accompanied by Jibril, who plays the Darbouka, and Louna, who beats time and accompanies Manon on her singing.
The world of Jules and Manon is a placid one. They organize musical and poetic shows where local characters, such as Zola the griot who tells Mandingo legends, or Bilal, the baker, meet and enjoy them.
In this recomposed universe, all races mix happily in a world of destitution and desolation.
Only one danger threatens the lovers: Rachid, the governor's son, who has noticed Manon and wants her in his harem. As she refuses him, he has resolved to have Jules eliminated and to send Manon to the island's brothel.
