Rama X nightmare

Apsara had been on her screen for a few minutes. She was already almost done with it. She always had the same ritual: surf only on Tor, use a different computer every week, connect to the hotels' wifi network, use proxies, virtual private networks (VPN) from countries not collaborating with Bangkok or the CIA, automatically clean up the browser settings every 5 minutes, block cookies, never leave traces, never stay more than thirty seconds in transmission, move... Apsara was a specialist.

"There you go, this asshole wanted to hide his little quirks... He wanted us to think he was a good family man, you bastard! Let's see what Anakot Mai's friends and the foreign press will think of this..."

She was transferring, right now, the compromising photos of a politician to several correspondents in Thailand and abroad.

To make this information known to the Thai people was not easy, the censorship was all-powerful in Thailand as soon as it concerned the generals or the king's entourage. But when even the Thai newspapers did not want to publish his pictures, they were very annoyed to have to comment what everybody had already seen on the internet...

The Thai intelligence services were on their toes. She knew it, she was working for them... The art of anonymous sending had no secret for Apsara. Several relays separated her permanently from her targets, giving them almost no chance to trace her. The transfers were always made in a few seconds. But she knew that there was always a risk. The trick was to be paranoid and regularly drop out, play dead for months, work different hours...

Apsara was doing all this to change Thai society. She was fed up with the dictatorship in Thailand, with those asshole politicians who lied, hit, killed to get power, sex, money.

She was tired of these selfish men, these husbands who went to brothels, got drunk and came back to beat their wives. She was tired of this king, this end of the race, this scum who still pretended to be revered by the poor people of the countryside.

With Apsara, there was no way this could continue. She had graduated as a computer security engineer, had taken several internships in the United States. After a few years of government service, she had become one of the best computer security specialists in the country. Basically, she was given the task of exposing herself...

As soon as she got her first job, she told her family to go fuck themselves. She took an apartment in Bangkok. In one month, she earned a year's salary from her father...

She ignored all the suitors her mother sent her. She chose her life. When a guy pissed her off, she kicked him out.

The only one she still found to her liking was Mitch, a weatherman she had met at Bondi Beach two years earlier. They talked every day, saw each other every month. He was kind, caring and super handsome. If she was still in the mood for him in six months, she might consider taking the job she'd been offered in Sydney.

In the meantime, she spent her time spying on the king and his entourage of crooked ministers and corrupt generals, all those pretentious charlatans who exploited the misery and ignorance of his people.

The game was dangerous, she was constantly monitoring the work of her colleagues who were investigating her. She had managed to hack quite a few computer accounts, trying to take control of surveillance cameras, phones.

Her latest gadget was a jewel of technology: a remote recording spy microphone. Coupled with his Millicam 90 that allowed him to see through walls, the whole thing allowed him to work remotely.

But you never knew. Apsara always operated with great caution, taking pictures with a telephoto lens, not staying in a hideout.

She always had a bag ready to leave for the airport in a minute and a bank account in Australia. She knew she was playing a dangerous game. If the generals found out that she was the one watching them and exposing them in their dirty tricks and intimate games, she would be fed to the pigs after having a bad time.

But her efforts were beginning to pay off. She had already obtained the resignation of two ministers and, indirectly, a cabinet reshuffle. There were a few TV and movie celebrities who were also in trouble. The pictures of these pigs with little girls always had a bad effect on the public.

Now she was on to something big. She had managed to intercept an e-mail that talked about the relationship between the heroin trade and two generals. It was no secret that the generals were corrupt, but it was difficult to accumulate evidence. Perhaps it was a trap set. She wouldn't follow up right away. We would see in a few weeks, maybe...
